Dynamar has just published its annual DynaLiners Millionaires ranking. DynaLiners Millionaires is a special edition that provides port throughput data for those 146 ports that handled more than 1 million TEU in 2020 and their position in the ranking. Additionally, the edition offers these same statistics for millionaire ports’ throughput per country and per continent. Finally, carryings for the world’s twelve largest container ship operators and handlings of the world’s ten major terminal operators are also included.
Amongst the biggest winners over the course of 2020 were the ports of Gioia Tauro, with a growth of 26% to reach 3.19 million TEU, Mundra, with a growth of 17% to reach 5.65 million TEU and the port of Qinzhou, which showed serious growth of 31% to reach 3.95 million TEU. At the other end of the scale, the biggest losers compared to 2019 included Dalian, down 42% to 5.11 million TEU, Genoa, which was down 20% to 2.10 million TEU and Zhuhai, with a 26% decrease to 1.84 million TEU.
