Business Development and Client Engagement Manager/Specialist

Business Development and Client Engagement Manager

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting leadership with business development planning and execution, brand development and marketing
  • Supporting leadership with pitch and proposal development, including messaging, pricing and debriefs
  • Identifying new business opportunities and leading sales engagements to deeply understand client needs and demonstrate solutions.
  • Building, managing and converting the sales pipeline from initial outreach to contract close, working in close collaboration with the Lead Director.
  • Proactively generating and manage leads from initial outreach through client onboarding
  • Identifying and driving profile-raising initiatives through events, campaigns and media engagement
  • Engaging with current clients and ensuring both current and potential future clients are supported and their enquiries effectively handled
  • Collaborating with internal teams to align business development, marketing and sales approaches end to end and ensure business and client success and satisfaction

What we are looking for:

  • Degree-level education
  • Fluency in English essential; Chinese highly desirable; other languages desirable
  • Strong understanding of and experience in sales and marketing and client engagement gained in a similar scale or context of organization or sector
  • Evidence of successful delivery of growth and new business development
  • Exceptional customer service, deadline driven
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Highly professional, results oriented but also sees the bigger picture, flexible, commercially astute
  • Strong team player, highly adaptable to context and open to learning, works well with others and builds constructive relationships to support team goals
  • Understanding of/experience in the shipping industry is highly desirable

Business Development and Client Engagement Specialist

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the delivery of business development, sales and marketing and client engagement goals and activities
  • Supporting sales leads and analysts with building the sales pipeline, hitting sales goals and engaging in profile-raising initiatives such as events and media engagement
  • Working with management in identifying and following up on sales leads, following up on enquiries and supporting potential new clients
  • Engaging with current clients to understand their needs and provide appropriate responses and solutions
  • Providing exceptional customer service to clients and to internal customers
  • Providing sales and marketing, communications and other support as needed to the internal teams to help ensure internal alignment of approaches, client satisfaction and successful delivery.

  • Degree-level education

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with strong attention to detail

  • Can-do attitude, highly organized, strong completer finisher, takes the initiative to find new and better ways of doing things, flexible
  • Understanding of/ experience in the shipping industry highly desirable
