China’s first autonomous containerships has entered service, after a period of extensive trials. The 300 TEU “Zhi Fei” was put into operation by Shandong Port Group on a shortsea route been Dongjiakou (Bohai Rim) and Qingdao. The vessel is designed for three different modes, manual, remote control and autonomous navigation.
