Northport Ltd, operator of the eponymous New Zealand port, intends to lodge a resource consent application for its eastern development project. There it would develop 13 ha of land for container operations. Northport’s container operations are still modest, 13,450 TEU in fiscal 2021 (Jul-Jun), the in the far future it hopes to take over from Auckland.
