Last week, the 24,004 TEU “Ever Alot” was delivered to Evergreen by shipyard Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding, part of China State Shipbuilding Corporationg (CSSC). Although only 12 TEU larger than six other Evergreen ships that were built by a different yard, it is the first vessel to surpass the psychological 24,000 TEU barrier and is now the largest containership afloat, by capacity. It is 400 metres long, 61.5 metres wide and has draught of 17.0 metres.
