Hapag-Lloyd will acquire a 49% stake in the Italy-based Grupo Spinelli, while the Spinelli family will continue to hold a majority stake of 51%. Spinelli, founded in 1963, provides a broad spectrum of logistics services and is involved in three container and multipurpose terminals, being:

• Salerno Container Terminal – Grupo Spinelli (30%), Galozzi Group (55%) and Contship Italia/Eurogate (15%)
• Genoa Port Terminal – Grupo Spinelli
• Terminal Rinfuse Genova – Grupo Spinelli (44%), Marinvest/MSC (36%) and Other (20%)
