Investor Notarc Management Group and MSC’s stevedoring division TIL will take over the stalled Panamá Colón Container Port project. The facility was to be developed by a subsidiary of the Chinese Landbridge Group and, although construction started in 2016 (DL 20/16), it failed to make any progress. Therefore, earlier this year, the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) ordered the cancelation of the concession. The new terminal (location) is to have an initial capacity of 2.5 million TEU, which can be expanded to 5.0 million TEU.
