Spliethoff has called the US (Minnesota) port of Duluth (Lake Superior) with its Cleveland Europe Express, which connects the Great Lakes with North Europe, using multipurpose tonnage. There it picked up a cargo of 200 containers with kidney beans from Chippewa Valley Bean, which otherwise would have been routed via Montreal. It is unclear whether this was a one-off call or whether it will become a regular stop.
