The Shenzhen port of Yantian has begun the construction of a new 3 million TEU automated container terminal at the east side of the port (location). It will offer a quay line of 1,470 metres with a depth of 18.0 meters and situated on a 120 ha area of land. The three-berth, USD 2.28 billion facility will be operated by Yantian East International Container Terminal Ltd, a 50-50 joint venture of Hutchison Ports Yantian (79.45% Hutchison Port Trust) and Shenzhen Yantian Port Group.
